Twinkle Not Wrinkle

I have been looking for a new eye primer for some time. A few MUAs have mentioned Nurturing Force “Twinkle Not Wrinkle” Eye Cream and Primer so I decided to try it. The product is an aloe-based cream, and you only need a tiny amount.  I put a dab on my lids and then applied the matte shadow I use as a base. The shadow went on smoothly and did not look dry or crinkly. Did it last all day? Well, almost. I consider that not bad at all.

The next time I used “Twinkle Not Wrinkle” I added a bit of Urban Decay Primer in Eden. My shadow went on smoothly and did not look dry or caked as it usually does when I use Urban Decay Primer alone. The shadow stayed on pretty well. I applied it at 6 AM and when I got home from work at 3 PM, it was still on although a bit faded. That’s to be expected with any primer because of your eye movements during the day, the effect of the weather and other variables. “Twinkle not Wrinkle” can be bought on the Nurturing Force website and at makeup stores that cater to pros. The price is $38. for .5 oz., but it will last forever since all you need is a tiny bit.

Here’s what the website says about this product:
“Twinkle Not Wrinkle™ Eye Cream + Base – HD Primer is an HD eye makeup primer for the total eye area, with the added benefit of being a high performance quick absorbing light weight treatment cream. It is applied all over the eye area: the lid, under eye area, below, above and between the brow, in addition to the outer corner of the eye (crow feet area). It moisturizes, plus helps firm & minimize file lines & wrinkles, assisting with creasing shadow and dark circles. It is your morning and night total eye wrinkle cream.

Use Twinkle Not Wrinkle™ as your HD Primer for the eyes; apply prior to applying makeup. Our eyeshadow primer and eye base holds makeup, assists eye shadow application by helping to control blending and definition; while slowing the degradation of eye makeup. It helps to protect the delicate skin around the eyes from the sometimes coarse binders and different textures of eye makeup. Use under cake, liquid, cream, powder, mineral, pigments and airbrushed products.
Apply a thin coat with clean fingertips to total eye area.

CND Vinylux Nail Polish

I have been seeing all these great nail pictures on Instagram. So I thought I would dig out my CND Vinylux Nail Polish and start doing my nails again. I was a user of CND Shellac and they came out with The CND Vinylux Nail Polish that you can use with out having to set them with the light. These are weekly polishes and have all the same great colors that you find in the Shellac series.

So if you like the beautiful colors that they make for shellac these are for you. The CND Vinylux Nail Polish has a  topcoat and nail polish, no base coat.  I use 2 coats of polish and 1 coat of topcoat.

I have done them with a base coat and without one. The polish does seem to last a bit longer without a base coat. I do get about 3-5 days before chipping, but if the chipping bothers you, you can fix the chips.  But all in all they do last for the week and they do offer a lot of colors to chose from. You can also find some sets that are already made up in mini bottles that give you a few colors and a topcoat. I like this idea because you can get smaller bottles and are not committed to a full size and you get more colors to try!!

Beauty Blender Mini

Beauty Blender came out with a smaller version of their original blender. The Beauty Blender Mini. BB duoGood idea??? Since I have been using the Beauty Blender for years this peaked my interest.  There are 2 sponges in the Beauty Blender Mini package and they are tiny. I have been using them to apply eye primer and concealer. I like the way the product applies using the Beauty Blender Mini, I use them dry. They do get a bit bigger when wet.

They do get into small spaces and work as well as the full size ones.  They only draw back they of the Beauty Blender Mini is that they are  too small to hold on to. I have small hands and you really have to grab the bigger part of the sponge to hold on to it. If you have bigger hands or a male makeup artist or a male that wears makeup, you would have a problem holding on to these.  Was it a good idea, yes but they probably should have done more research on the size of it. I do like using it for smaller spaces and it does get into them well and works.  Maybe Beauty Blender should make one between the original sized Beauty Blender and the Beauty Blender Mini.

This is the original Beauty Blender and the new Beauty Blender Mini. You can see the difference in the size of them and these are dry not wet. BB comparison
